There's still beauty left here...

Against the beautifully lit sky,
With the Alps in the background,
I saw a sight I had never seen before,
It was breath-taking.

A landspout (I think).

I paused my dish-washing to snap shots
By the time I had finished the dishes, it had gone...

Pining Away

Five out of five sat at the dinner table,
Four out of five were emotionally stable,
Three out of five had great stories to tell,
Two out of five had life going swell,
But one out of five had nothing to say,
That one out of five was pining away,
For love and acceptance that should have been there,
But the four did not know it, they were unaware...

Could all the hurt felt be unnecessary?
Imaginary demons that haunt the soul?
And yet the effects—cardiopulmonary!
Eyes dilate and fingers turn cold...

Alas for that one, one can only hope,
That that one may keep the boat afloat,
Amidst the storm and the cold dark tempest,
Imaginary or not, when life seems bleakest...

Passing From Sight...

Slowly she fades away into the light,
Very slowly passing from sight,
Not even a memory will remain,
Will all her tears be in vain?

Perhaps it's best she's forgotten,
That no one remembers she was ever begotten,
And they can go on with their lives,
Free from the guilt that caused her cries,
To go out silently into the night...

Il Ponte Vecchio

They couldn't bear it,
They simply couldn't,
The sight of blood splattering,
As they walked by,
Should a drop touch them,
They thought they would die!
And oh the smell of freshly killed swine,
Completely killed all desire to dine...

So they did away with the butchers and meat,
No longer would they need to watch their feet,
As they crossed the bridge on their way to town,
There was no longer cause for frowns,
Precious jewels, silver and gold,
Indeed a lovely sight to behold!
And that was how it came to be,
That goldsmiths now reside along thee...

I'm Feeling Pink!

Hmmm, a little too pink perhaps, although there is a little hint of purple...

Whatever...I'm feeling pink!

P.S. I love the twirly filamens...is that what they are? The little antennas on the flowers...

Night in Blue

If you had the power in your hands,
To make people happy,
To put their minds at rest,
To increase the width of their smiles,
And the peace in their hearts...
Would you?

All it takes, are decisions with a little effort thrown in,
A decision to smile, even though you're tired,
A decision to hold back a spiteful sentence,
A decision to give yourself in joy...
Would you?

She had that power. But she didn't...

On Display...

The sun rises...

Another day...

She paints her face, she paints her face,

Set the twinkles around the eyes,

The color blue, just like the skies,

Paint on the red smiling grin,

Make it happy, make it beam,

Cause it's what they want to see...

Nevermind the sad little heart,

Stop the tears, don't dare start,

Breathe in deeply, and count to ten,

If it doesn't work, do it again, do it again...

She cannot speak her mind,

They must not know her feelings,

Don't let the peace unwind,

It leads to needless dealings,

And why bring others woe?

If you can bear it alone...

The Withered Leaf

I just stood there looking at the withered leaf.
A scornful smile...
"We're not so different, you and I," whispered the leaf.
A sardonic laugh....
"Rotting away with no life left within us...Only you remain a walking corpse....I....I don't suffer much."
"What do you mean?" I demanded.
The leaf smiled and said, "I don't have a heart...therefore nothing can eat away at it, nothing can hurt me."
I made no reply.
"I do however wonder what it would be like to have one..."mused the leaf.
"You would be able to love, and be loved," I answered without much thought.
"Oh," the leaf said softly, "But is it worth it?"
But before I could answer, the wind came and blew it away.

Looks Like Fun...

A sweet ride for the royal toddlers..
I wonder which poor servant had to pull it around...

Red Beauty

Sweet quiet she was as the first rays of morning pierced through the darkness,
The last vestiges of the spirited night passed gently stirring in her hair,
As the chilly air swept across the plain, he found comfort in the warmth of her body,
Another quarter of an hour in bed he told himself. Another quarter before the madness.

He counted the seconds...and then it happened,
The sun rose and woke the earth,
He held his breath as he beheld her,
Her soft pink dress now an intense deep red,
His gaze unwavering with the wonder of a child,
His desire uncontrollable with the passion of a man.

What will the fates deal upon him today?
Within the walls of her heart,
Which stead has he been predestined to ride?
To win the prized silk banner,
With a quick prayer and an air-blown kiss,
He raced down the slopes of his beautiful Sienna.

You are What You Eat

I got this drawing from my little brother's school exhibition. Some of the kids were educating people to practice healthy eating habits.

I fell in love with the drawing the moment I set my eyes on it and had to take a picture :)

Am thinking about the very cheesy omelette I had for lunch...not to mention the Kit Kat bar that followed closely after...sigh...

When the dog bites, when the bees sting, and when I'm feeling sad....

I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feeeeeeel,
sooooooo baaaad....

Comforting the heart through the stomach....

Contemplation

He stood there

Watching silently,

Gazing at the life down below.

From behind the parapets and pinnacles,

In the company of the thousands of statues,

He saw them, he saw the people,

But they did not see him.
