The monument of Vittorio Emanuele II

Here are some photos of the monument of Vittorio Emanuele II of the house of Savoia. He was the King that united Italy. I actually bothered to walk a long distance to find this monument. I had seen it one day whilst passing by in a car...and I saw the flowers at the feet of the statue. I knew I just had to get a photo. So a few days later...I went in search of it on foot.

In these two photos you can see the flowers....(that usually aren't there). I thought they looked pretty.

  3. I love the second shot. The silhouette against the sky is quite dramatic.
It would be some feat to get those flowers up that high. It must have been a special ocassion.
